November Scrapbook Club layout

Okay, you saw the post about using My Digital Studio to come up with my scrapbook layout for my Hostess Club this month.  This page uses the stamp set called Happy Everything from page 142 & Think Happy Thoughts from page 144 of the current catalog.  I did use some retired colored buttons.  I also used a 5/8" silver jumbo brad from page 179 of our current catalog.

This page uses the same circle from the Think Happy Thoughts stamp set.  Also used is a Star Designer Brad from page 179 of the current catalog.  I also cased the cute little punched robot & balloons from a demonstrators blog but can not find her name any longer.  If I find it I will add it later.  If anyone else knows who it is, please let me know.  I did change the colors & the robot a little from hers.  I hope you enjoy.

Guest Artist- Jackie Berggren

Twick or Tweet Treat received at my day job last Friday in Waterloo, IA. 

Jackie gave all of us this very cute treat using the Twick or Tweet stamp set from the Holiday Mini catalog.  I am not sure where the bat stamp is from & the ribbon is not Stampin' Up! but isn't it adorable?

My Digital Studio (MDS) used to design my Hostess Scrapbook Club layout

 My Digital Studio has 8 Designer Templates you can use for Scrapbooking by just dragging & dropping photos on the pages.  You can also take them & change them any way you want.  Deleting & adding items.  Below is 2 of the 12 pages in a Birthday Template.  I started with these 2 layouts & played with them to come up with my layout for my Hostess Scrapbook Club.  You can see how I changed them below.

You can change the color of your background paper with a few clicks.  You can add stamping & embellishments.  Doing this saved me from trying to come up with a layout & possibly wasting cardstock for a layout that didn't work out.  This layout is not exactly what I came up with in the end but some of the elements are.  I will show you the actual layout another day soon.  The birthday cake I tried to do with punches on the program but when I actually tried them out with real punches it did not work.  I ended up using a different element in that spot.  Watch for the next post.

My Digital Studio (MDS) Card Share

I have been taking classes online with Stampin' Up! to get certified on the My Digital Studio software.  One of the requirements was to make a card with the software & get it printed through Stampin' Up!'s printer.  This is the card I designed.  I have received the card back in the mail & some of you have been able to view it.  What did you think of it?  When I have a chance I am going to print it on our Whisper White cardstock so I can compare the printing.  The card uses the Upsy Daisy & Heard from the Heart brush stamp sets.  Also used are Designer Paper, grosgrain ribbon & brads all from Stampin' Up.

50/50 Board Winner

Guest Artist- Kelli Hansen

Kelli came to my last open stamping night & used Carole Fowler's Tri Shutter card to come up with her own.  I just love what she came up with.  I think you will enjoy it also.

Kelli used a retired stamp set I have but do not remember the name but any snowflake set could be used such as Snow Swirled on page 36 of the current catalog or Serene Snowflakes on page 26 of the Holiday Mini Catalog.  She also used a retired jumbo wheel which could be replaced with Bold Snowflakes on page 204 of the current catalog.  I also see a couple other wheels that could be used.

Tri-Shutter Card made by Carole Fowler

I received this beautiful card at Stampin' Up Convention in Salt Lake City in August.  The demonstrator who gave me this was Carole Fowler.  This is just a beautiful card.  It uses the stamp set called A Cardinal Christmas from page 38 of the current catalog.  Also used is the Merry Moments designer paper from page 160 of the current catalog.  We will be using some of this designer paper on a couple of my Christmas Stamp Camp cards.  I will be having a Guest Artist tomorrow that used this card to create a totally different Tri-Shutter card.  
 

50/50 Board Drawing

Just to let you know that we everything going on getting ready for my 1st Christmas Card Stamp Camp I forgot to do the drawing.  I will now be doing the drawing on Thursday night at the next stamp camp.  Sorry about the delay.

Getting Ready for my Christmas Card Stamp Camp

This weekend I have been diligently working on getting everything ready for my 3 Christmas card Stamp Camps coming up soon in Waterloo & West Des Moines, IA.  I am not the only one working on this.  As most of you know my mother cuts most of my cardstock & ribbon but once in a while due to injury etc she is not able to help quite as much.  I recently have found another little helper.  My niece Aubrey is 3, almost 4 & she loves helping.  I showed her how to cut the circles using the Circle Bigz Clear Die for the ornament card on the Sizzix Big Shot & she did about a 1/3 of them all by herself.  She put the layers on there, cut them & took them off.  Do you see future demonstrator?
