Earlier this month I showed you a card our Guest Artist Sue Hoven made using the Big Shot & one of our new Texturz plates. I loved the technique so much that I made my husbands Valentine card using this technique with a different plate. I also used the new Candy Lane Designer Series paper & the new Heart to Heart punch.
I have a feeling I will be using this technique more often. Would anyone like to try this for a Stamp a Stack?

For those that have been to My Stamping Place in Waterloo, IA, you know the walls are just plain white with a little blue in a few spots. I have wanted to add some of Stampin' Up!'s Decor Elements to some of the walls but had not had the time. I have just started on one of the walls & when I get it further done I will add a better picture so you can see the results. I just love it!
Decor Elements are vinyl pieces in many different designs for any room of your house that stick to the wall. They are perfect for anyone, even a renter that is unable to do any decorating to their apartment or house. These do not hurt the wall & you can just peel them off when you want to change them up or have to move away.
I will say that Stampin' Up! states they should be placed on smoothly painted walls but I have heard other Stampin' Up! demonstrators say they have used them with no problems on a rougher wall. I am taking a chance but so far it looks wonderful. I even had one of my customers helping me tonight for a bit after my Stamp a Stack.

I worked on this layout this last weekend during Open Stamping here in the Cedar Valley (Waterloo & Cedar Falls area) of IA. This layout will be for my March Scrapbook Club. I got part of the idea from an 8 1/2 x 11 scrapbook page we did several years ago at either Convention or Leadership. I didn't know what title to use but Kelli Hansen looked over & said when she looked at it she thought of Spring Fever. So that was that. Thanks Kelli. I used White Stazon on the Basic Black 12 x12 cardstock using a Stampin Up set called Doodle This. I also used the White Stazon on a Window sheet that lays over the Certainly Celery cardstock piece on the right hand side. This is held together with a new product from the 2009 Spring Summer Catalog called Flower Assortment Designer Brad- I used the So Saffron color as it matched well with my pages. I also used Bashful Blue & Cameo Coral. The S & the F are using the Big Shot with the Serif Essentials Alphabet & Chipboard. I then stamped over the chipboard with the flower & leaf stamp from the new Stampin Up Thoughts & Prayers stamp set using Certainly Celery. I used Apricot Appeal for the big flower, the little flowers punched with the Trio Flower Punch & the smaller die cut alphabet called Go Go Boots. There is one little surprise on the 2nd page. I took a long narrow white envelope that I sealed & cut along the short side & attached it on the top backside of this page. I then used the large oval punch so you could get into the envelope but not see it from the front. There is a Basic Black cardstock piece with Certainly Celery Grosgrain ribbon on the top of it to pull this piece out. Something secret, some journaling or even another picture could be added here.

As you know, Saleabrations is here. I thought I should show you a few ideas for using these free products. Free Products? You didn't know?
Saleabrations is held this year during the months of February & March. You as a customer can purchase $50.00 of merchandise (prior to tax & s/h) and you will get to pick one free item out of the Saleabration's mini catalog. What a great deal! In fact, you can pick 1 free item for each $50.00 purchased.
This card was almost 100% cased from someone out on the Splitcoaststampers website. It uses the Free Stamp set called Polka Dot Punches. I also used our 5- Petal punch to punch the blue & green flowers out along with a square punch to punch out 4 different pieces of the Delicate Dots Designer Series Paper. This paper is another of the Free Saleabration products you can get free. Last but not least is the Certainly Celery twill tape which is part of the ribbon bundle you can get free as another Saleabration item. The words came from a Level One Hostess stamp set called Sweet Little Sentiments.
I don't believe I have ever made a St Patrick's Day card in the 6 years I have stamped. Over the years I have seen many hearts used to make a 4 leaf clover so decided it was my turn.
I started with one of the Stampin' Up! Background Texturz plates that put swirls on the background white cardstock. I then stamped 4 hearts using the Saleabration stamp sets called Polka Dot Punches. These would normally be punched with the Full Heart punch which I thought I had purchased but found out I didn't so had to cut them for this card. The punch would have been quicker & easier. I then took a rectangle of Glorious Green cardstock & used the Wide Oval punch along each side to make the stem. Last I took the 3/4 inch circle punch & put it under the middle of all the hearts to put it together. What do you think?
This card is also partially cased from the Splitcoaststampers website. I used the the Big Shot with the Top Note Die. I inked up the bottom part of the one of the stamps from the Yummy set. This is another Free Salebration set. I then used words from the Level 1 Hostess set. The flowers are from an Embosslit Die called Stampin' Up! Simple Flower that is used with the Big Shot. It embosses & cuts the cardstock or in this case the Delicate Dots Designer Series Paper at the same time. I also used the Certainly Celery twill tape from the ribbon bundle.
This last card uses the Saleabration stamp set called Botanical Blooms. I also used the middle of the Frame, Oval Scallop which is a new die for the Big Shot. I also used the So Saffron ribbon from the Saleabration ribbon bundle. Hope I have given you some fun ideas.
Sue came to open stamping to make a couple cards & little did she know that she would end up as one of my Guest Artists. She took the bear from the Stampin Up set called "Under the Stars". She used Big Shot along with one of the Texturz plates I just received to make the background by using the technique called Direct to Paper. Isn't it adorable?
Now for the big WOW. We tried inking up the Paisley Texturz plate & putting it through the Big Shot with Whispering White cardstock. You will have to ask to see this background technique up close as the picture does not do this justice. Sue also used a retired punch called stair step & a stamp set called Love Always. I would like to thank Sue & all the girls that have shared to help me show a wider variety of stamping styles on my blog.
Kelli Hansen was working on her granddaughter's 1 year old birthday invitations, hat & banner. She said she took a bought birthday hat apart for the pattern to make the one below. The banner used the Big Shot & the Top Note Die along with some scallops & punches. She also used my retired large alphabets to stamp & cut out & place on the Top Note Die pieces that she used different backgrounds on.
The invitation below will have a picture of her granddaughter showing through the hole in the middle of the flower. Kelli always does such nice work. Thank you for sharing Kelli.
The last 2 cards of my Stamp a Stack for masculine cards in Waterloo, IA have been created. They are the top 2 cards in the above picture.
The bear card featuring the Under the Stars stamp set uses several new items. I used the Big Shot with the new Texturz plate which shows how they are large enough to add texure to the whole front of the card. I then punched out the small circle in the front of the card. I used the round Happy birthday stamp from the Think Happy Thoughts set but there are a few others that could be used instead if you choose. In the middle of the circle I used Cropadile tool with a Jumbo eyelet. The bear is stamped on a piece of cardstock cut oval using just the middle part of the new Frame, Oval Scallop die for the Big Shot. I used a technique called masking to put the bear in front of the pine trees from the stamp set called Lovely as a Tree. Watercolor Crayons were used to color the picture.
The second card uses the new set stamp set called Totally Tool. It is hard to read but it says "you hit the nail on the head". My mom said I should use a brad on there to look like a nail. It didn't quite look right until I took the hammer from the tool kit & flatten the brad a little. Good idea Mom! The background used a technique called direct to paper where I took a small Stampin Spot in Chocolate Chip & directly touched it to the Creamy Caramel card. The wood looking piece is a piece of Chocolate Chip Patterns Designer Series paper that I ran through the Big Shot with the same Texturz plate as the bear card. I then took a sanding block to it which brought out the white of the paper to make it look more like wood. I read about doing this on another Stampin Up demonstrators blog.
