I told you the Dasher Stamp was popular didn't I?

So I had some cardstock left from my last Christmas Stamp Camp that I decided to do a quick card with but after it was done I knew it just needed a little something more.  If you look at the second picture I just added one little brad & think it adds so much more.  Sometimes it just doesn't take much.  The Dasher stamp from the Under $10 page 208 from the current big catalog was used.  From the Holiday Mini Catalog I used the Platinum Shimmer paint from page 27 to not only stamp Dasher but also mixed some with denatured alcohol to spray over the Chocolate Chip cardstock.  The Ribbon Originals is called Mistletoe which includes 2 different designs from page 33 of the Holiday Mini Catalog.

Guest Artist- Barb Culbertson

Barb came the other night for open stamping & shared this card she made.  This uses the stamp called "Dasher" that is so popular this year.  It is a single stamp from the Under $10 page 208 in the 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog (IBC).  It also uses the following items from the IBC except for the one item noted as coming from the Holiday Mini Catalog:

• The Platinum Shimmer Paint from page 27 of the Holiday Mini catalog that expires January 4, 2010. 
• The Designers Series Paper is called Holiday Lounge from page 162 of the current IBC.
• The Sizzix Big Shot page 194 along with the Scallop Circle Bigz die page 199.
• The word window punch page 186.
• The ribbon is not Stampin' Up! unless it was a older retired ribbon as we used to have ribbon like this.
• Teeny Tiny Wishes word set on page 145.
• I don't believe the sparkle is Stampin Up either but Crystal Effects page 192 and Dazzling Diamond Glitter page 180 would do the same thing. 

Last Stamp a Stack card

You probably remember this card as a Thanksgiving card I did with the Mothers of Twins.  This is going to be the last of the 6 cards we do this next Thursday for the December Stamp a Stack.  Time is 6pm to 9pm though most times it does not take this long.  You will do 2 of each of the 6 cards.  The other 5 are in another post back a week or two.  The stamp set used is Lovely as a Tree.  Of course the Sizzix Big Shot was used, actually 3 times for this card.

Mother of Twins Cards for Nursing Home

Each year for about the past 5 years I have assisted the Mother of Twins Club of Blackhawk County with making cards for a Nursing Home.  They felt most people probably get Christmas cards so they do them for Thanksgiving.  The cards are set on the food tray at that particular nursing home on Thanksgiving Day.  They have made anywhere from 45 to 90 some cards depending on the nursing home they chose for that particular year.

These are 2 of the 3 cards made this year.  The 3rd card is one you have seen on here before so I didn't put it out here. 

The 1st card is a case of a card in the current years catalog on page 13.  It was changed just slightly.  It uses a Level 1 Hostess set called "Of the Earth".  Also used was the Give Thanks from the Level 1 Hostess set called "Holiday Best" on the same page.  Cardstock used is Kraft, Really Rust, More Mustard & Close to Cocoa with Really Rust & Chocolate Chip ink used. 

The 2nd card uses a old favorite called "Lovely as a Tree" from page 110 of the current catalog.  The Sizzix Big Shot was used with the Stampin Up Scallop Square Bigz Clear Die & the Originals Ovals Die.  Also used was the Texturz Plate Kit #4 for the background of the card.  Sponge Daubers were used to color the tree with Chocolate Chip, Old Olive & Ruby Red ink by starting with the lightest color first & then stamping on Very Vanilla cardstock. You do have to clean the stamp in between.  Happy Thanksgiving came from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set from page 145 & the Modern Label punch (page 186-187) was used to punch the words.

 I have been using the Stampin Up Dasher stamp quite a bit lately.  This is the card I had for everyone to make at the fundraiser Business event a week ago.  I will also have this for the make & take at my next event which is a Craft Fair/Business Event in Waverly, IA.  I even made a few just to sell. 

This uses the Dasher stamp from the "under $10" page 208 of the current Idea Book & Catalog.  It has been every popular with many demonstrators & stampers.  Also used is a snowflake from the Snow Swirled stamp set on page 36 & the Sizzix Big Shot  from page 194.  The beautiful poinsetta cardstock is made using the Textured Impressions Folder called Petals-A-Plenty from page 21 of the Holiday Mini Catalog. The cardstock used was Ruby Red, Chocolate Chip & Kraft.  The Kraft was stamped with Dasher & then sponged around the edge with the Chocolate Chip ink.  Isn't it just beautiful?  It was so easy to make.

Sweet Treat Cups Christmas card

These little Sweet Treat Cups can be found in the Holiday Mini Catalog currently out. Many people have been using these with candy or beads in them.  I decided to make a Christmas card where I used what is called Buffalo Snow in it.  I thought it turned out really neat except you would probably want to get the padded envelopes if you wanted to mail them to someone.  I would just hand it to someone.

The stamp set used is called Snow Swirls shown on page 36 of our current Idea Book & Catalog.

September Workshop Make & Take 1 -Upsy Daisy card

Here is the simple stamped card we made for a workshop this month.  It used the Upsy Daisy stamp set.  Cardstock used was Naturals White & Old Olive.  Ink was Crushed Curry & Chocolate Chip.  We also used gold brads & Crushed Curry polka dot ribbon.  Also uses the Ticket Corner punch, the Mat Pack & the paper piercer.  I simplified a card I saw from a demonstrator & changed the stamp set used.

Puns from the Past card ideas & a Challenge for my viewers

Last year Stampin' Up! came out with a new rubber stamp set called "Puns from the Past".  This set can be seen on page 124 of the current Idea Book & Catalog 2009-2010.  When I saw this set I knew my mom would like this set as it had pictures of items from the past.  I bought it from her but she hadn't used it yet so yesterday I decided it was time to break it out so she would.  She loves to case my cards.  I came up with the 2 cards below & she is now in the process of casing them to send out to her brothers & sisters.  My mom is almost 84 so she remembers these items well.  I hope you enjoy these cards as well. 

When working with this set I really didn't have any idea where to start with this card so I decided it was time to take a layout in the catalog & make it mine.  I found the layout, used this stamp set & changed some of the colors.  Challenge:  Find the card I used in the catalog.  Email me the page number & which card it is & the first person will receive a prize from me. 

This set uses the Sanded Background stamp with Old Olive ink on Old Olive cardstock.  I also used our Sahara Sand & Chocolate Chip cardstock along with 2 new In colors, Melon Mambo & Crushed Curry.  Don't you just love the matching Crushed Curry polka dot grosgrain ribbon?

This card uses some retired Designer Series paper but I decided the quilt background was perfect for the sewing machine stamp.  I just love these colors together.  The card is Taken with Teal & I also used Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip & Whisper White.

Great Friend Swap for Convention & Stamp Camp card

This card uses a set called Great Friend.  I had seen this layout about a year ago or so.  I decided to make it work for this stamp set even using one of the new In Colors.  I have used Bermuda Bay, Old Olive & Chocolate Chip.  I also used the Big Shot with a circles die for the 2 circles in the middle. 

I am involved in several swaps at the Stampin' Up! Convention to be held Aug 4th through August 8th in Salt Lake City, UT.  This card will be used for a shoebox swap I am attending.  We have to have 22 cards completed & enough prepared for 21 people to make it there.  I will have 42 swap cards just from this swap alone.  I also am going to my roommates Team Meeting & have 30 swaps already made to share there.  Can you believe this team has adopted me.  That is one of the great things about being a demonstrator.  I have met so many wonderful people, not only You, my customers but also fellow demonstrators from all over the US & Canada.

Not sure what a swap or shoebox swap is?  A swap is where we take card fronts & trade with other demonstrators.  This gets us more ideas & we have cards to share with our customers.  This helps to show you stamp sets I have not purchased that you might be interested in & also new layout or color ideas I might not have used.  A shoebox swap is where you bring a card & all the products needed to make it.  You set it up at a spot at the table & then go around making all the different cards. 

I am also considering this card for my Stamp Camp coming up the end of July.  What do you think?  Would you like to make this cards?
