This is my very first tutorial. Not perfect but I hope it will work well enough along with my written instructions to show you how to make this cute little treat or gift card holder. This idea was from my friend Diane Workman, a fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator in Iowa. She showed up how to make these at a Mini Convention I attended in the fall. I used the idea for my Hostess Appreciation Event this year. Not only did my hostessess get a Thank You one from me but they also got to make one with words they choose so they would know how to make them. If they forget they can just come out here & look at this tutorial to remember.
You start by taking a 6x6 inch piece of Stampin' Up!'s double sided designer series paper. I made some using our Christmas paper but sold them right away before I could get a picture of them to show you.
Decide what side you want on the inside & which up want on the outside. My preference is to have the darker side on the outside like I am doing on this one. Next fold the piece corner to corner. Use the bone folder to make a crisp edge.
This is hard to tell by the picture but you want to fold down the top flap to approximately 3/4 inch from the bottom.
Bring the flap back up. You will fold over one side along the crease of the flap you just made.
Next you will bring over the other side. Before you use the bone folder on these you will want to test them by bringing the flap down & making sure it covers the edge of the top side. I think you will know what I mean. If you look at my last picture you can see how the striped edge is showing when I have the flap down. I had to adjust it a bit so this would not show.
Last you have to stamp something small with a picture or words or both on some light colored cardstock & layer it with a darker color to coordinate with your designer series paper. You will pop this up on the lower front of your gift holder up with 2 dimensionals. If you place the 2 dimensionals at the top & bottom you don't need to use any adhesive to hold them together except to make your tag. Your tag can be a circle, scallop, square or oval. Stampin' Up! has many wonderful punches that work for this.
